- Communication: 1–3 hours. Product managers, partner engineers, support teams, and sometimes customers need to be notified. Status pages may need updating. If there's an SLA, someone is calculating whether it was breached.
- Postmortem: 2–3 hours. The team writes up what happened, how it slipped through, and what they'll do differently. Action items get created. Some get completed. Most quietly age in the backlog.
